Your questions, answered
Everything you need to know about our LEGO® Serious Play® certifications, format and pricing.
Is this course certified by LEGO®?
No. The LEGO® Serious Play® method is an open-source methodology gifted by the LEGO® Group to the community, and LEGO® does not certify training providers. Our certification confirms your ability to apply the method professionally. We are not sponsored, authorized or endorsed by the LEGO® Group.
Will I be certified to use the LEGO® Serious Play® process at the end of the course?
Yes. On completing the course you receive an official Serious Play Business certificate of attainment and a digital badge, confirming you can facilitate LEGO® Serious Play® sessions.
Is the self-paced course the same as the one with live sessions — and will I be a certified facilitator at the end of either?
Both lead to certification. The Foundational (self-paced) and Advanced (self-paced + two live sessions) share the same core content; the Advanced simply adds live practice. Either way, you finish as a certified facilitator.
What certification do I receive upon completion?
An official certificate of attainment and a digital badge from Serious Play Business.
Do I need a LEGO® license or membership to become certified?
No. The method is open-source — you don’t need any LEGO® license or membership to train or to facilitate.
English is not my first language — can I still take this course?
Yes. The course is delivered in English with videos and written materials you can work through at your own pace, so you can take all the time you need.
Can I run LEGO® Serious Play® sessions online?
Absolutely. The method works well virtually, and the training includes guidance and a bonus module on facilitating sessions for virtual teams.
How many modules or hours are on the self-paced course?
The self-paced certification includes 40+ hours of curated content across 16 modules, plus bonus modules, assignments and a live Q&A session.
What is the difference between a face-to-face course and this online course?
Our certification is fully online — self-paced content plus, on the Advanced track, live online classes. You get the same depth as in-person training, with the flexibility to learn from anywhere and revisit the material for 12 months.
How long does it take to be trained? Is there a deadline to complete?
It’s self-paced — many learners finish in a few weeks, but you have up to 12 months’ access to complete the course at your own pace.
What happens after my 12 months of access to the resources?
After 12 months you can extend your access — 3-month, 12-month or lifetime extensions are available on our Extensions page — to keep using the platform and resources.
Does the Advanced price include the Foundational course, or is it on top?
The Advanced Certification ($1,300) is a complete program that already includes everything in the Foundational Certification ($750) — you don’t pay for both. You can also start with Foundational and upgrade to Advanced later.
